Who is More Entrepreneurial-Minded: Gen Y, Gen X or Boomers?

Have you ever wondered -- of the three generations in today's workforce (Gen Y, Gen X and Boomers), who considers themselves as the most entrepreneurial?

You might assume that Gen Y workers (a group loosely defined as between the ages of 18-29 years) take the lead in entrepreneurial thinking. Yet a recent Monster survey shows otherwise.

Survey data conducted by Monster and Millennial Branding, a Gen Y research and consulting firm, found that 32% of Gen Y workers surveyed consider themselves to be entrepreneurial.

Compare that number to survey responses from Gen Xs and Boomers.

The report found 41% of surveyed Gen X workers (a group loosely defined as between the ages of 30-49 years) and 45% of surveyed Boomers (a group loosely defined as between the ages of 50-69 years) consider themselves to be entrepreneurial.

The Monster survey was based on results from an invitation sent to 200,000 randomly-selected Monster.com users to participate in a Monster Workplace Survey between October 29 and November 29th, 2012.
