Host to the 1996 Olympics, Atlanta is the capital of Georgia and offers a diverse workforce.  Home of Coca-Cola, the area is a primary transportation hub of the Southeastern U.S. and home to several Fortune 500 companies and educational institutions. The biggest drivers of job growth are the Atlanta metro area's professional and business services, leisure and hospitality, and retail industries. In the past year this growth has been slightly offset by jobs shed in the information industry. Still, the area has created 74,800 new jobs over the past 12-months; the unemployment rate was 5.1% in July 2016 which was just 0.2 percentage points above the national rate of 4.9%.
